National Survey of Current Malnutrition Practices in Canadian Hospitals 2022

The Canadian Malnutrition Task Force (CMTF) and Dr. Heather Keller (University of Waterloo) are conducting a national survey to gain an understanding of current practices around malnutrition in Canadian hospitals.

The results from this survey will illuminate gaps between current nutrition practices and best practices around malnutrition. By conducting this survey on an annual or bi-annual basis, CMTF will be able to track hospital progress and benchmark the current state of practices around the prevention, detection, and treatment of malnutrition across Canadian hospitals.

The survey is voluntary, will take appx 10 minutes to complete and will ask about:

  1. Information about your hospital
  2. Current nutrition practices to prevent, detect and treat malnutrition in your hospital
  3. Barriers and successes with making nutrition care improvements

We are interested in hearing from all acute care hospitals across Canada. Participants do not have to be currently involved in making improvements in their malnutrition care. Since only one single survey is required per hospital, we suggest that the team of dietitians in the hospital meet together to complete this survey.

The survey is open from April 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022. To participate in the survey, go to bit.ly/nationalsurvey_eng

This study has been reviewed and received ethics clearance through a University of Waterloo Research Ethics Board (ORE#43722). Please contact Professor Keller if you have any questions (hkeller@uwaterloo.ca)
