Canadian Malnutrition Awareness Week 2021 at Alberta Health Services

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is a provincewide, fully integrated health system, responsible for delivering health services to more than 4.4 million people living in Alberta. We have proudly celebrated Canadian Malnutrition Awareness Week (CMAW) since 2015 through various communications activities. For 2021, our activities included: • Printed and distributed over 600 colour 11x17 copies of the CMTF infographic posters created for CMAW 2021 to hospitals, supportive living sites, and home care offices throughout Alberta • Posted a story to the AHS website about our implementation of the Primary Care Nutrition Pathway for Adults Aged 65+ in Red Deer, Alberta. The story features one our patient advisors and other members of the team. This story is available at this AHS webpage https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/news/features/2021/page16200.aspx • Sent email communications and links to CMAW webinars to over 500 AHS dietitians, Food Services leaders, AHS senior leadership. • Developed a Health Unlimited TV (HUTV) video that was shared with CMTF and was played in over 400 waiting rooms across Alberta during the first two weeks of October. • Posted a link to CMAW in the Upcoming Training and Events section of CoreAlberta.ca (Collaborative Online Resources & Education – for Healthy Aging). • Submitted information on the CMAW 2021 webinars and links to the CMTF website to Alberta’s Primary Care Network electronic newsletter. This newsletter is distributed to 40 Primary Care Networks that has approximately 3800 physicians.
