Long Term Care and Food in Healthcare

The Canadian Malnutrition Task Force (CMTF) established the Long Term Care & Food Working Group in 2021 to address malnutrition by improving nutrition care, mealtimes, and food in long-term care (LTC) and other healthcare settings. This working group’s role is to explore, understand and share best practices for resident nutritional care and patient/resident-centred food service through research, education, advocacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration in Canada.

This group replaces the previous Food in Healthcare Working Group, which was formed in early 2018, composed of Food Service Directors and Clinical Nutrition Leaders dedicated to improving hospital nutrition standards, and focused on addressing malnutrition through best practices for hospital foodservice.
