Webinar description:

Family caregivers are the backbone of the healthcare system and need support to sustain their care and own wellbeing.  While professional competencies and organizational missions may call for person- and family-centered care approaches, many healthcare providers report being ill-equipped and under-resourced to recognize, partner with, and support family caregivers. Through sharing stories and interactive learning, this webinar will help participants gain understanding and practical experience in engaging family caregivers to effectively foster a more collaborative and integrated care approach. This workshop will raise awareness of and enhance nutrition professionals' ability to support family caregivers.

Learning Objectives:

After this session, participants will be able to:

  1. recognize family caregivers as essential partners in nutrition care
  2. meaningfully engage family caregivers as partners in our practices
  3. assess family caregivers’ strengths and where they need support to continue their caregiving while maintaining their own wellbeing
