This workshop - the first of a three-part series - will introduce key concepts including equity, diversity, inclusion, belonging and justice. Participants will be asked to critically reflect on how implicit, explicit and structural biases influence their practice and research. They will learn strategies to mitigate the influence of bias while co-creating safe/brave working and learning environments. The workshop will focus on the context of nutrition and health, while also being relevant to those in related disciplines.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Sukhera is the Chair of Psychiatry at the Institute of Living and Chief of the Department of Psychiatry at Hartford Hospital. He is an internationally recognized health professions education researcher and thought leader. His research program explores novel approaches to addressing stigma and bias among health professionals and he has also been involved in advocacy and cross-sectoral work in education, policing, and community services.  CLICK HERE FOR FULL BIO
