Cannabis edibles have now been on the regulated Canadian recreational cannabis market for about a year. We will learn about cannabis edibles and other dosage forms. We will also discuss the current best evidence for the use of medical cannabis to treat disease. Special populations will also be discussed, including youth, older adults, patients with renal or liver dysfunction, and pregnancy and lactation.
Learning objectives:
After this talk, learners will be able to:
- Compare contrast recreational, medical, and pharmaceutical cannabis dosage forms.
- Demonstrate knowledge about the current state of evidence for the efficacy of cannabinoids to treat disease
- Employ prevention and harm reduction approaches to mitigate harms associated with cannabis use in youth, older adults, and in pregnancy
